Doula Training

Registration is now closed!

We are thrilled to partner with The Bootheel Perinatal Network and Small Moments Doula Academy to bring an in-person birth doula training workshop to central Missouri!

Training will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, at the Watson School of Music in St. James.
Saturday will be 8am-6pm, Sunday will be 12pm-6pm.

We will have short breaks throughout the day, and 45 minutes for lunch on Saturday. We’ll have water and light snacks available, but please bring your lunch or have a plan for getting lunch Saturday.

The Training

At this workshop you will learn the following:
– foundational concepts such as trauma informed care, implicit bias, and informed consent.
– the physiology of birth, and how a variety of factors influence labor and delivery.
– comfort measures for mom during labor and delivery
– techniques and positions for encouraging efficient labor
– information on Medicaid reimbursement for doula services
– lactation support in the early days

There is some pre-work to do before the training. It may take approximately 3-4 hours to complete. You will be enrolled in a Google Classroom, and have access to all the required assignments.

You will need a Gmail account to access the classroom. If you do not have a Gmail account and are unable to create one, please contact us.
